Montgomery County Provider Profiling

When choosing a provider for mental health inpatient and/or substance abuse services, it is important for members to make an informed choice. To support and help individuals and family members in the HealthChoices program make an informed choice, the Montgomery County Office of Behavioral Health has developed a provider profiling program.

This program provides a comparison of the providers in the HealthChoices program based on different indicators, including:

• Service planning and delivery
• Rights and responsibilities
• Member outcomes and satisfaction

These profiles are the first attempt to offer information to members related to member participation in treatment, the protection of member rights, and levels of satisfaction with the services members have received. The number of member records and surveys used as the basis of each provider profile was limited.  Therefore, the provider profile results are not considered statistically significant and could differ with use of a larger number of records and surveys. Additionally, the provider profiles are not a recommendation or endorsement of any provider by Montgomery County or Magellan.

Montgomery County/Magellan Provider Profiles

The qualitative review of key indicators used for the provider profiling was generated during 2006. Providers were given scores derived from member satisfaction surveys, Magellan quality data and provider clinical records. These scores are presented as a number of "stars" to show overall performance based on the areas listed above.
